Gemfields releases updated ‘G-Factor for Natural Resources’ figures

In July 2021, Gemfields announced the ‘G-Factor for Natural Resources’, a measure promoting greater transparency regarding the level of natural resource wealth shared with the governments of host countries, whether from the mining, oil, gas, timber or fishing sectors.

The Company’s Remuneration Committee engaged with shareholders in September 2022 to discuss the Company’s Remuneration Policy (as set out within the Remuneration Committee Report in the Company’s Annual Report for the year ending 31 December 2021) and allow for views to be expressed on the Company’s proposed new Long Term Incentive Plan (“LTIP”).
Cabo Delgado insurgency: evacuation of personnel from Nairoto Resources

Shortly before midnight on Sunday 12 February 2023, an attack attributed to insurgents took place in the village of Nairoto in the Cabo Delgado province of Mozambique. The village of Nairoto lies: (i) approximately 15km south west of the exploration camp of Nairoto Resources Limitada (“NRL”), in which Gemfields owns 75%; and (ii) approximately 83km north of Montepuez Ruby Mining Limitada (“MRM”), in which Gemfields also owns 75%.
